In this task, we were told to attempt to re-design the original portrait of the chosen celebrity. As you can see in the image on the left, WILL.I.AM is my chosen celebrity. He is a former member of the band, Black Eyed Peas. In the image, the face of WILL.I.AM has been glued over with a yellow paper, also the background has been made more colourful and this looks more creative. This style of art is called Rankin Destroy.

Herbert Bayer was one of the leading figures in the Bauhaus movement in Germany and throughout his career was a highly influential graphic designer and artist. Bayer produced some straight photographs, highlighting the abstract structures and sculptural qualities of things, but was never interested in the technical side of photography and so his exploration of straight photography was limited. He left the Bauhaus in 1928 and established himself as a leading designer. It was at this stage that he took and interest in photomontage. He was partly responsible for establishing photomontage as a key commercial visual style in the 1930s.
In this image, the photographer wanted to create a sense of claustrophobia, insecurity, loneliness and isolation. He did this by enlarging the windows and the building behind the 'two eyed palms'. He wanted the observer to think about the journey he took during his move to Germany. Source: http://collections.vam.ac.uk/item/O128503/the-lonely-metropolitan-photograph-bayer-herbert/ |
WWW: In this image, I have transformed Jay Z by cutting out his face into multiple circles placed on top of each other. I think that I have cut out even circles when creating this piece and also used the size of the image to create as many as possible. EBI: This would be better if I cut out smaller sections so it would have more circles to look more creative.

WWW: In this image, I have transformed Fin's face by cutting out his face into multiple polygons placed on top of each other. EBI: This would be better if I cut out smaller sections so it would have more circles to look more creative. Also it would be improved if I could have evenly placed them on top of each other.
